Yeah September is actually usually worse than July and August here
July and August while very humid in Central Florida we usually get the afternoon thunderstorms every day. So even though it is humid we usually get a break from the high temps when it rains every day. Summertime in Orlando is very similar to summertime in Washington DC. In September we usually have the Hurricanes which can disrupt power and the afternoon thunderstorms start to end in mid-September which means higher temps.
